Wow. the nerve of some people… or am I making a big deal about nothin’?
So I get an email from a JV Partner of my recently launched Giveaway site. Now mind you, this email was in reply to an offer that I made just the other day to all of my JV Partners letting them know that I was willing to showcase their gift to the entire database of members of the site.
This would most likely result in getting them a very high opt in conversion since, well it’s an exclusive mailing to the whole database just talking about their product! Well, check out the reply that this person sent me. I have removed their name from this because I feel that he has suffered enough embarrassment already from reading my reply.
But the reason that I post it here is because I believe that there is a lesson that we can all learn in this. Let’s see if you can pick it up in this exchange.
Oh and by the way, It could just be that maybe I approached this in the wrong way. If you would’ve handled this differently, do me a favor: let me know by commenting your opinion below. I am always looking to learn something new and seeing things from a different perspective:
“Hi Ruddy
Thanks for your offer, but as I have about 8 x as many registrations per day, and you are not really on the edge of your alliances, I would say thank you this time, for your offer, I am not interested, or certainly not until you do investigate my before writings to you, and see that my offer made to your Group, is the best in the Whole service you would have to offer.
But since you decided not to look into it and you prefer something that has a much lower value and rather think or use your talents for your own customers let be informed that I am very disappointed.
Therefore I real doubt that your service is as good as it sounds. When the owner is sleeping or ignoring what he has received, just because he believes he is big nodge in the Industry, and has so much to share. Well Rudy I have so much more to offer than your own services I streched out my hand to you, and you are not getting it.

Look forward to hear from you
Best regards,Dr. [EGO Bigger than His Future]
Can you believe this guy?
Ok, even I have to admit…while his arrogant confidence is obvious, it really got to me. I mean, you seriously have to have some really big … … well, you have to be very full of yourself to write someone an email like that!
So after a nice ride in my car running errands and some time to pray, I mustered up enough calmness to reply to this guy. Here’s what I wrote:
Dr [EGO],
If that is your real name.
Congratulations to you.
While you might have allot of registrations, you don’t seem to get the core principles of business. Business is all about relationships.
Let me ask you: what exactly is it that you are so disappointed with me about?
All of your communications with me thus far have been insulting and full of arrogance and pride.
With humility comes wisdom and with wisdom come profits!
Your service is one in a sea of services out here sir. Here’s some advice (if you even care to take it)
Stop leading with your product and services and lead with your uniqueness, which is what only you can offer to your subscribers.
You want me to “investigate your previous writings” let me ask you: what have you offered that has answered the question that all marketers must answer if they are ever going to succeed: “what is in it for me?”
This is marketing 101. YOU obviously don’t get it.
I care about the people that register at my sites. they all know it. This is why I am not peddling products to them but actually doing things to help them improve their businesses and their lives.
And I’m looking for like-minded partners that want to do the same.
If you are interested in being that type of person to my subscribers, then you are welcome to partner with the rest of us in this network.
If not, then just move on.
I do suggest you get over yourself…you’ll live a healthier, happier life.
At the end of the day sir, nobody really cares how great you think you are, but in what you can provide for them to improve their own lives.
With much respect, but not necessarily awaiting your reply,
Ruddy Ortiz
So…there you have it.
To me, this guy is totally missing the point of all business. While every business is in business to make money, every business must understand that people only give money to people they know, like and trust. In other words: It’s all about relationships and the quality of those relationships!
Also, people don’t give a rip about your product so it doesn’t matter how “great” you think it is. What matters is if anyone is truly convinced that your product solves their problem! And get this: It doesn’t even have to be the BEST product out there in it’s category!
Take McDonald’s for instance. Do they have the best burgers on the planet? I am sure that you will agree: No! But McDonald’s is the only fast food franchise with a flag on the moon, why?
Because they have one of the best systems and some of the best marketing happening on the planet.
They don’t lead with their product. They lead with their unique strengths.
OK…so let me step into spot now and ask…
Was I too hard on this guy? What do you think…how would you have handled this?
Let me know your thoughts by posting them below.
Make it a great day!

Right on Ruddy. who the heck does this guy think he is, a gift to the world?
In business, each and every relationship counts and you can only build a solid business one person at a time. Who cares if you have thousands of people bumping into your stuff when you don’t provide any value to them.
I wouldn’t have kept my composure as surely as you did.
Great Job,
Alex!!!
