Lori,

Thank you for your kind words.

I would encourage you to do what I suggested in the article above: Look within.

Ask yourself these questions:

1) "What truly brings joy to my life?"

Every person has a "passion" in life for something. Unfortunately, most people as they grow and "mature" stifle and suppress their passions and follow paths that don't necessarily make them happy or fulfilled.

They chase money and recognition and approval from their peers instead of chasing their dreams. This path only leads to living an unfulfilled and (IMHO) a wasted life.

What makes your heart skip a beat, Lori? What could you BE and DO everyday that would put a "pep in your step" and a smile on your face, without any monetary, social or approval-type of gain-just inner fulfillment?

That more than likely IS your passion.

2) "What can I be THE VERY BEST at (or one of the best)?"

The reality is that you have much to offer the world through your God-Given gifts. Your unique gifts were given to you for two reasons:

       1) To serve your fellow man: As you GIVE YOUR GIFT away in service to others, it grows; it is perfected and produces more joy and clarity of purpose for YOU!

       2) To lead you to your destiny: Your gift will take you in the direction of your dreams and true purpose for your existence.

Your gift is much bigger than you and is for the benefit of others NOT just yourself.

3) "How can I leverage my passion and gifts so that I can be the most effective in ALL that I do?"

Most people's passions don't employ their unique gifts and therefore their passions are only fulfilled through "hobbies".

I personally believe that you should couple at least one of your passions with one of your gifts (this is very easy when you have identified your gifts clearly) and use it to take care of your own financial needs.

Most of people have no choice but to invest most of their time into work in order to provide for themselves and their families.

Nothing wrong with that.

"...the worker deserves his wages". Luke 10:7, The Bible

However, doesn't it make sense that the time you spend
daily should be spent doing something you LOVE to do AND that you get paid for it?

This is exactly how I live my life and everyday is an adventure for me. I do what I am passionate about and LOVE to do...I do it for fun, but I'm also getting paid to have fun doing what I love to do!

The greatest personal development book ever written: The Bible says:

"Moreover, when God gives any man wealth and possessions, and enables him to enjoy them, to accept his lot and be happy in his work—this is a gift of God."
Ecclesiastes 5:19

So ask yourself those questions; ponder them, write down the answers and then pursue them with all of your heart.

In doing just that you will set yourself apart from 90% of the rest.

Make it a GREAT DAY!

I have found your insight and wisdom quite helpful. You have been quite blessed with your wisdom. I guess I would benefit with help for the courage to press on with these decisions that need to be made. Any directions? Thank you for your time.
